Moving to a new iPhone

Your history isn't in iCloud or iPhone backups. That's on purpose, so it never leaves your phone without you. There are two ways to move it.

Phone to phone

  1. Put both iPhones on the same Wi-Fi, side by side.
  2. On the old iPhone, open Settings › Backup and transfer › Move to a new iPhone. It shows a code.
  3. On the new iPhone, install MindVape, open Settings › Backup and transfer › Bring history from your old iPhone and scan the code.

Your history goes straight from one phone to the other, encrypted, and never through the internet or us. The old iPhone keeps its copy until you delete it.

With a backup file

  1. On your old iPhone, open Settings › Backup and transfer and tap Save a backup file.
  2. Choose a password. You'll need it to open the file, and nobody can reset it, including us.
  3. Save the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, such as Files, iCloud Drive or AirDrop.
  4. On the new iPhone, install MindVape, go to Settings › Backup and transfer › Restore from a file, pick the file and enter the password.

Restoring replaces what's on the new iPhone. Photos of your vapes aren't included in either method. Without a transfer or a backup file, a new or reset phone starts empty, and we can't recover your history.

Restore Plus

Plus is tied to your Apple Account, not to a MindVape account (there isn't one). Open Settings › MindVape Plus and tap Restore while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy it.

Cancel or change Plus

Apple handles billing. On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › MindVape, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Plus stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. For refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Export or delete your data

  • Export: Settings › Privacy and data › Export everything makes a JSON file of your history (photos left out).
  • Delete: Settings › Privacy and data › Delete history removes everything from this iPhone for good. You can export first. Deleting the app does the same.
  • Analytics: turn off Usage and crash reports in Settings › Privacy and data. Analytics never includes what you log. See the privacy policy.
  • Purchase records: we can delete the record of your Plus purchase. Email hello@thecraftedcode.com with the order ID from your Apple receipt.

Keep it private

Turn on Settings › Privacy lock › Lock with Face ID to ask for Face ID or your passcode whenever MindVape opens. The same screen can hide MindVape in the app switcher and keep widget numbers hidden until your iPhone is unlocked. The Lock Screen Live Activity is Quiet by default: it shows the timer, not your vape or puff count. Privacy lock is free.
